Portsmouth midfielder Ronan Curtis will miss his side’s Sky Bet League One game with Scunthorpe after suffering a freak injury before Tuesday’s win at Walsall.
Curtis trapped his finger in a door and did not travel to the game, which Pompey won 3-2.
The Republic of Ireland international has undergone surgery and will see a specialist on Friday to determine how long he could be out.
Striker James Vaughan is a doubt for Saturday due to a back injury while Pompey boss Kenny Jackett believes midfielder Andy Cannon and defender Bryn Morris are around a fortnight away from returning.
Scunthorpe boss Stuart McCall will be without midfielder Levi Sutton for the trip to Fratton Park.
Sutton suffered a groin injury in the midweek win over Southend and was substituted at the interval.
Goalkeeper Jak Alnwick has been ill this week but is expected to be fit enough to play.
On-loan defender Cameron Borthwick-Jackson has returned to Glanford Park as he steps up his recovery from cartilage damage and is set to join in with full training on Monday.
