Wenger is yet to make his football management return after parting ways with Arsenal last summer.
But Fifa might now challenge the clubs interested in his services with an offer to take up the head of technical development position at the game's governing body.
LeParisien report that Infantino is awaiting Wenger in Zurich to talk over his potential involvement in supervising technological changes being applied into football.
The former Arsenal boss would effectively become Infantino's special advisor in charge of adjusting the rules of football, as well as improving refereeing.

Wenger's appointment could be confirmed within a few weeks, but he is believed to be still mulling over the offer.
The Frenchman has been approached by numerous clubs in the last months, most recently by Paris Saint-Germain chief Nasser Al-Khelaifi.
The two were understood to have held talks in Doha about the sporting director post.
But Wenger could now be also considered as Tomas Tuchel's replacement following PSG's shocking Champions League defeat to Manchester United.

The French champs have squandered a comfortable first-leg advantage in the knock-out stages of the competition for the second consecutive year - losing out to Barcelona last season despite winning 4-0 in the first leg.
Wenger has also continued his punditry work, occasionally appearing on beIN Sports - where he recently showed off his vast football knowledge by identifying Presnel Kimpembe as the potential culprit of PSG's Champions League woes.
