Tyrese Campbell praised by Shrews boss Sam Ricketts

Sam Ricketts was pleased to see Tyrese Campbell score his first goal for Shrewsbury in the 1-1 draw at home to Burton.
The striker was brought in on loan from Stoke before the transfer window closed.
He scored twice against the Shrews when they beat the Championship club 3-2 in an FA Cup replay last month.
Campbell produced a cool finish to give the hosts an eighth-minute lead in this game, but Burton quickly pulled level through David Templeton’s header to leave the points shared.
“He took it really well,” said manager Ricketts of Campbell’s opener.
“It’s not an easy chance when you go through one-on-one, especially when the pitch is as bobbly as it is, but he finished it really well, really calmly, so I was really pleased for him.
“Tyrese is obviously new into the building, gradually settling in. He started a couple of weeks ago, didn’t start last weekend and then he’s worked hard this week and got his rewards today.”
Shrewsbury have now drawn five of their last eight league games and are in the bottom four on goal difference.
“It’s a point, it’s another game unbeaten,” said Ricketts. “Yes, I wanted three. We’re in a situation where we have to grind out results and play in a certain way.
“Burton are a good side and playing really the way we did today it was a good performance. It wasn’t great because we didn’t win the game, but there were really good signs.”
Burton manager Nigel Clough said: “It’s another point on the road in very difficult conditions. I thought the conditions dictated what sort of game it was.
“It was scrappy and I lost count of the number of times people miscontrolled it, overran the ball, misplaced passes. It was a very, very difficult surface to play on, a bit breezy as well.”
Clough was pleased his side responded so well to falling behind.
“It was important that we got back into it with a good goal,” he stressed. “One of the rare bits of quality I thought in the game, the cross and the finish.
“These are scrappy and hard games,” added Clough. “They’re fighting for their lives and fighting for everything.”
