Amadou Bakayoko and Jordy Hiwula return to haunt Walsall

Amadou Bakayoko and Jordy Hiwula scored against their former club to hand Coventry a deserved 3-0 win over Walsall.
The former Saddlers players netted in the first half before Bright Enobakhare added a third from the penalty spot after the break as the hosts utterly dominated at the Ricoh Arena.
Coventry took a deserved lead on the half-hour mark when Bakayoko headed in Dujon Sterling’s delightful cross before celebrating by shushing the away crowd.
It took the hosts just five more minutes to double their lead with Hiwula capitalising on Jack Fitzwater’s slip to burst into the box and slot past Walsall goalkeeper Liam Roberts.
City should have added another after the break but Roberts pulled off a string of fine saves to keep his side in the game while Enobakhare also blazed over with the goal gaping.
But they did seal the win when Enoubakhare atoned for his glaring miss by slotting home a 73rd-minute penalty after he was tripped in the box, leaving Walsall two points above the relegation zone.
