Kay puts Sutton over a Barrow
Posted Sunday, February 17, 2019 by PA
Sutton lost at home in the Vanarama National League for the first time since November as Josh Kay struck late on to snatch Barrow a 1-0 win.
Sutton’s Craig Eastmond brought a save from Joel Dixon inside the first minute, while at the other end Kay should have done better as he fired over when well placed.
Lewis Hardcastle should have put Barrow in front in the 67th minute but the Blackburn loanee managed to send a header against the crossbar from three yards.
Sutton goalkeeper Ross Worner kept out striker Jack Hindle shortly afterwards, while the home side were inches away from the opener when Jamie Collins connected well with a James Dobson free-kick.
Barrow grabbed the winning goal in the last minute when Kay’s shot from the edge of the area took a significant deflection and beat Worner.
