United are back in business after sacking Jose Mourinho and installing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as interim manager.

The Norwegian has brought the smiles back to Old Trafford and won 10 of his 12 matches in charge.

And despite the defeat to Paris St-Germain on Tuesday, Solskjaer has refused to get downbeat over his first loss while at the helm.

Instead, the 45-year-old insisted that PSG was the level the club should aspire to.

He said: "You can see the strength they have when they put those players in as you talk about.

"But that's the level we want to get to, and we are looking to strengthen the squad.”

And it seems United chief Woodward will adhere to the boss’ wish and has big plans for the summer.

According to the Mirror, four players are being lined up by the Red Devils to rejuvenate the squad and mount a Premier League title challenge.

They report that Woodward wants two new full-backs, a winger and a centre-back.

With Antonio Valencia set to leave and Ashley Young ageing, United are in desperate need of a right-back.

And the Mirror report that Nikola Milenkovic of Fiorentina is the man the Old Trafford outfit would like to land.

The Serbian is capable at both right-back and centre-back, but he would not be the defender Woodward wants in the middle.

Instead, fellow Serie A star Kalidou Koulibaly is being lined up by the Chelmsford money man.

The Napoli ace would warrant a mammoth fee in the summer after already turning down bids up to £75m in the past.

And on the other flank, Luke Shaw’s performances have been average throughout the season and he is without competition.

As a result, Atletico Madrid ace and World Cup winner Lucas Hernandez is being touted for a move - with his stock still high after his brilliant displays in Russia last summer.

United’s attack is too lop-sided, it has been said, and to complete the transfer strategy, a right-winger is wanted to balance the side.

Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford, Juan Mata, Alexis Sanchez and Jesse Lingard have all played there but none are true wingers.

Woodward has his eyes set on Douglas Costa, who is not having the best of seasons at Juventus but would bring an unpredictability at Old Trafford that has not been on the flanks since Nani.
