Southend vs Portsmouth - John White unavailable for Southend's clash
Posted Friday, February 15, 2019 by PA
Southend will be without defender John White for the Sky Bet League One clash with Portsmouth.
Centre-back White suffered a groin injury in the midweek defeat at Doncaster.
Shrimpers midfielder Dru Yearwood is in the middle of a three-game suspension after being sent off at Charlton last Saturday.
Ben Coker (knee) and Harry Kyprianou (Achilles) have both been ruled out for the rest of the season, while left-back Stephen Hendrie (groin) is not expected to return.
Portsmouth could hand a debut to winger Lloyd Isgrove at Roots Hall.
Isgrove, on loan from Barnsley, has recovered from the knee injury which kept him out of last weekend’s draw with Plymouth.
Dion Donohue remains sidelined due to shin and ankle problems, while midfielder Andy Cannon (thigh) and goalkeeper Luke McGee (wrist) are closing in on their returns to full fitness.
Midfielder Tom Naylor completes a two-match ban and defender Jack Whatmough (knee) is also out.
