Will Grigg looks set to start again when Sunderland face Blackpool

Will Grigg is set to keep his place in the Sunderland starting line-up for the League One visit of Blackpool.

Grigg impressed Black Cats boss Jack Ross on his debut at Oxford on Saturday and showed no ill effects from his recent knee injury.

Both Kazaiah Sterling and Chris Maguire are pushing to return to the squad after being left out for the trip to the Kassam Stadium.

Midfielder Lee Cattermole could be in line to return after missing the Oxford clash with a minor ankle injury.

Blackpool new boys Antony Evans and Matty Virtue are both pushing for places in the Seasiders’ starting line-up.

The pair impressed when they were introduced from the bench during Saturday’s 2-0 win over Walsall.

Blackpool captain Jay Spearing is definitely out due to a knee injury while Callum Guy (ankle) is battling for fitness.

The visitors are still without longer term injury absentees Jimmy Ryan (knee) and Max Clayton (hamstring).
