Cristiano Ronaldo's mother Dolores Aveiro has backed her son, who has been accused for raping Kathryn Mayorgam.

The American teacher has claimed that the Juventus forward forced her to have sex back in 2009, something the Portuguese categorically denies.

"I have confidence in my son with regard to what happened," Aveiro said during the presentation of her own brand of wine and oil.

"She didn't go there to play cards, but to do something."

Ronaldo has recently celebrated his 34th birthday, while his girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez lost her father after a long battle against illness.
