LIVERPOOL have had another bid for Napoli's star striker Lorenzo Insigne turned down - despite offering £61million.

The Reds have been linked with the player several times in the past 12 months and have turned their attentions to him once again.

La Repubblica via sportwitness have reported that they have offered £61m for the Italian, but the offer was made the player's agent Mino Raiola rather than Napoli.

Raiola then got in touch with the player's stepfather but Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis still got word of the offer and valued Insigne at a shocking £131m.

The Italian international has scored eight goals and registered five assists for his team this season.

The 27-year-old's contract expires in June 2022 and could be up for a renewal soon.

Liverpool boast an incredible attacking trio of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah, who have scored 100 Anfield goals between them.

Their pace and power guided them to last year's Champions League final and to the top of the Premier League.

Adding another striker to the team will increase competition for places and give Jurgen Klopp a selection headache.

Insigne will look to add to his goal tally when his side faces Sampdoria in the league this weekend.
