Manchester United are ready to make their move for David Brooks
DAVID BROOKS' fine form for Bournemouth could earn himself a summer switch to Manchester United, according to reports.
The Welshman has been the star for the Cherries this season following his £11million move from Sheffield United last year.
Brooks' progress on the field has been remarkable and is now one of the first names on Eddie Howe's team-sheet.
But his fine form, in which he has scored six in 21 league starts this season, may mean the club could struggle to hold onto their key asset.
According to Manchester Evening News, the Red Devils are ready to make their move as they plot a mini squad overhaul.
United could be set for another summer of change with a big decision to be made on who will become their permanent manager.
But the board are hoping to push through a transfer for the 21-year-old before Europe's biggest rivals come sniffing.
Juan Mata's contract is also expiring in the summer and United are ready to find a young, talented replacement.
If he continues his progress, Bournemouth know keeping hold of the winger will prove a difficult task.
But reports suggest they will try to lure Brooks down to a new contract by doubling his current wage packet to £50,000-a-week.
