The hosts took a 17th-minute lead when Aidan Fitzpatrick got on the end of Joe Cardle’s through-ball and beat goalkeeper Max Currie with a low shot.
The Championship strugglers doubled their lead when Cardle scored with a deflected shot five minutes into the second half.
League One Stranraer pulled a goal back within two minutes with a powerful shot from Paul Crossan.
However, Steve Saunders headed in a third from close range 16 minutes from time and Blair Spittal wrapped up the win seven minutes later.
