Malcom is on the radar of both Spurs and Roma - but could be set for an Italian job
TOTTENHAM’S bid to land Barcelona forward Malcom have been hit by Roma moving for the Brazilian.
Mauricio Pochettino was in for the 21-year-old before he moved to Camp Nou - and he is an option after Harry Kane’s injury and Heung-Min Son heading to the Asian Cup.
Barca have made Malcom available but Roma have made the first move and have opened talks about getting him for the rest of the season.
French clubs are also looking to compete for his signature after his stunning spell at Bordeaux that earned him a move to the Spanish giants.
Pochettino will now be desperate for striker re-inforcements after Kane picked up an ankle injury during the defeat to Manchester United.
He had treatment on the field but looked to be in significant pain as he walked off.
Harry Kane is facing at least four weeks out with an ankle injury picked up in the defeat to Manchester United
And in snaps worrying to Tottenham, England forward Kane can be seen gingerly walking down Harley Street with the help of crutches and a protective boot on his left foot at 10.30am this morning.
A source said: "He struggled to manoeuvre and looked very uncomfortable."
Kane, 25, had some trouble getting out of a blacked-out, chauffeur-driven car before limping into a clinic for a scan.
The snap will come as a huge blow for Spurs, who have relied on their 14-goal striker for their Premier League title push this season.
Injury to their talisman could derail Tottenham's season, with the club currently third and nine points behind leaders Liverpool.
Kane himself reportedly believes he will be out for at least four weeks and could miss some crucial matches in Tottenham's season.
Spurs travel to Fulham on Sunday before their EFL Cup semi-final second-leg at Chelsea on January 24, where they lead 1-0.
