TOTTENHAM star Serge Aurier was arrested on suspicion of assault after a late night bust-up with his lover.

The 26-year-old defender was held the night before Spurs' crunch Premier League match with Manchester United.

He was detained for several hours and missed his side's 1-0 defeat at Wembley Stadium on Sunday.

Ivory Coast international Aurier vehemently denied assault and was later released without charge.

He lives with reality TV star Hencha Voigt in a mansion in rural Hertfordshire.

A source said the couple had a heated row on Saturday night while staying in with their baby — during which police were called. Aurier was then arrested on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm.

Hencha, 31 — who appears on US TV in Wags of Miami — revealed she was expecting Aurier's child on Instagram at the start of last year. They have a little girl.

On Monday, Hencha posted a photo of herself at a top London hotel — though it was unclear if she was staying there or just visiting.

A source close to her said: "She only moved in with him recently and they were full of hope about the future.

"It's terrible that this has happened. She was very upset."

A spokeswoman for Hertfordshire Police confirmed: "A 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of ABH. He has been released with no further action."

A Spurs spokesman said: "We are aware of an incident concerning Serge Aurier this weekend."

Aurier, joined the North London club from Paris Saint-Germain for £23million last summer.

He was ruled out of a Champions League clash with Arsenal in 2016 after he was refused entry to the UK due to a conviction for assaulting a police officer in France.

He had been arrested outside a Paris nightclub in May 2016 after being stopped to take a breath test.

He was found guilty and given a two-month jail sentence, which he successfully appealed against.

He was ordered to pay £1,300 court costs, although he denied the charge and argued that he was a victim of the police. In 2015, Serge was banned from three European games for "insulting acts" towards the referee in a Champions League match between PSG and Chelsea.

Aurier did not actually play in the 2-2 draw but made comments on his Facebook page about official Bjorn Kuipers over his dismissal of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

East' looms
In an interview last September, Aurier told how fatherhood had "calmed me down".

He jokingly said that Tottenham's Argentine manager Mauricio Pochettino, 46, had warned that he would "kill" him if he got into any more trouble.

Tough disciplinarian Pochettino fined goalkeeper and captain Hugo Lloris more than £250,000 — two weeks' wages — following his conviction for drink-driving last year.
