Jamie Allen leaves it late as Dover down Maidstone

Jamie Allen’s goal four minutes from time gave Dover a 1-0 win at fellow strugglers Maidstone.
Allen’s goal ensured his side completed a festive double against the Stones and moved them three points clear of the National League relegation zone.
Dover’s Inih Effiong had the game’s first chance but his eighth-minute effort hit the outside of a post.
Three minutes later, Jake Cassidy tested goalkeeper Mitch Walker and the home forward also went close just before half-time when he fired wide.
Dover missed a great chance to open the scoring four minutes into the second half when a long throw caused havoc in Maidstone’s box but neither Alfie Pavey or Effiong could force the ball over the line.
But Allen poked the ball over the line in the 86th minute to claim a crucial win, which left Maidstone four points adrift of safety.
