Harry Smith still suspended for Silkmen

Macclesfield will again be without striker Harry Smith for their Sky Bet League Two clash with Tranmere.

Smith serves the second game of a three-match ban following his sending-off in the victory over Notts County on Boxing Day.

Callum Evans (ankle), Elliott Durrell (knee) and Rhys Taylor (hip) could again all be unavailable.

Macclesfield suffered only their second defeat since the appointment of Sol Campbell as manager when they went down 2-1 to Carlisle on Saturday.

Tranmere could again be without defender Manny Monthe.

He missed Saturday’s draw with Yeovil after failing to recover from an ankle problem sustained in the previous game against Morecambe.

The good news for Rovers was that captain Steve McNulty returned from his own ankle knock to take Monthe’s place and he came through the 90 minutes unscathed.

Tranmere will still be without midfielder Ollie Banks.
