Dawson in line for Cheltenham return ahead of visit of Forest Green

Kevin Dawson is pushing for a Cheltenham recall against Forest Green after a late substitute appearance in the Boxing Day win over MK Dons.

The impressive 3-1 victory over one of the favourites for the League Two title was enough to move the Robins’ up to 19th in the table.

Dawson came on for the final two minutes and made his last start in the return fixture against Forest Green in October before being sidelined with a knee problem.

Ryan Broom and Jacob Maddox both missed the Dons win with hamstring injuries while Tom Field and Sean Long are expected to be out.

Forest Green make the short trip to Whaddon Road on the back of three straight league wins – culminating in a 4-1 victory at Newport on Boxing Day.

Midfielder Paul Digby will serve out the last game of a three-match ban following his red card at Yeovil.

On-loan Brighton goalkeeper Robert Sanchez is also missing as he continues to recover from a hamstring injury at his parent club.

Manager Mark Cooper has made minimal changes given the recent run of good form and is unlikely to change that approach this time around.

Reuben Reid dropped to the bench for the Newport game and will be one of those looking to come into the side if Cooper is to make any alterations.
