Tom Walsh scored his fifth goal in four matches as Inverness won 2-1 at 10-man Morton.
The Caley Jags took the lead in the 17th minute as Walsh continued his recent hot streak by clipping a cool finish over Derek Gaston after collecting Liam Polworth’s through ball.
Morton tried to respond but suffered another setback in the 34th minute when Kerr Waddell was sent off for hauling down George Oakley. A penalty was awarded but, to the hosts’ relief, Sean Welsh hit a post.
After the break Gaston tipped a Polworth effort over the bar but then conceded to Aaron Dolan, who headed in a Walsh corner.
Morton rallied and in the 72nd minute they halved the deficit as Scott Tiffoney slotted home at the end of a fine run.
With time ticking away, Mark Ridgers pulled off a sensational stop against Reece Lyon’s close-range header to protect the Inverness lead.
