Manchester United  were drawn against the Parisian club in Monday’s Champions League draw - and many believe the tie will be one-sided.

PSG finished top of their group ahead of United’s rivals, while the Red Devils finished second behind Juventus in their group.

Executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward, however, sacked Jose Mourinho on Tuesday in a face-to-face meeting, following an accumulation of mounting problems at the club.

And Brazilian star Neymar has made it clear that PSG won’t be taking United lightly.

"I was happy [with the draw], they will be two great matches between two great sides,” he said.

"We know the quality that Manchester United have and we know that their players have a winning mentality.”

Mourinho has faced criticism all season for the way he’s handled his time in Manchester.

And on Tuesday, the Portuguese finally left the Lowry Hotel, his place of residence during his time managing the 20-time English champions.

The final nail in the coffin for Woodward seemed to be United’s 3-1 defeat to Liverpool last Sunday, a game in which Mourinho’s men largely played dismal football.

But Neymar has noted how PSG’s upcoming opponents will have changed their style by the time February’s tie comes around.

"The coach has changed and it will be a different playing style – they’re in the process of changing things up – but we know the quality they have,” the Brazilian said.

"I love the big matches and it’s always a pleasure to play in them.

"I’m very happy to be taking on Manchester United.”

Thomas Tuchel’s side will be looking to win their first ever Champions League, and have been under pressure in the past few years to deliver in Europe’s elite competition.

United have since appointed former Champions League hero Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as their interim manager until the end of the season.

"Manchester United is in my heart and it's brilliant to be coming back in this role," the Norwegian said.

"This is an opportunity I had to take.

"I'm really looking forward to working with the very talented squad we have, the staff and everyone at the club."
