Man Utd transfer news: £162m bid EXPECTED by new manager - ‘He WILL be sold’

MANCHESTER UNITED’s transfer plans for next season will see them launch a £162m bid for Gareth Bale, regardless of who is in charge.

At least that’s what Real Madrid believe the club will do, according to Spanish journalist Eduardo Inda.

Manchester United have long been linked with a move for the talented forward but last summer refused to break the bank to sign him.

Bale has been tasked with filling the void left by Cristiano Ronaldo this season but it seems the Los Blancos hierarchy remain unconvinced.

And Spanish transfer expert Inda claims they will put him up for sale at the end of the season.

"Bale will be sold next season, it's a decision that's been made,” he told OK Diario.

"They would sell it for €180m (£162m), it's their starting price.

"They want to sign a centre-back, a left-back, a midfielder and two players in attack.”

With Real Madrid ready to splash the cash in the summer, the club are confident they can raise the funds by cashing in on Bale.

OK Diario claim United made an offer of £135m for the forward’s services in the summer which was swiftly rejected.

But the European champions believe the Red Devils will finally meet their asking price in the summer.

However, a large factor likely depends on who will be in charge next term.

Jose Mourinho was yesterday relieved of his duties and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been placed in temporary charge until the end of the season.

Zinedine Zidane has been linked with taking charge and could reunite with Bale, who helped him secure three Champions League trophies during their time together at the Bernabeu.

Mauricio Pochettino is another manager on United’s radar who is currently in charge of Bale’s former club, Tottenham.

United face a tough task in prising the Argentine away from north London though with him under contract until 2023.

Bale, who scored a hat-trick in Madrid's 3-1 win over Kashima Antlers in the Club World Cup this evening, is under contract until 2022.
