Premier League clubs are ready to splash the cash ahead of the transfer window in the New Year.

However, things will be interesting at Manchester United following Jose Mourinho's sacking.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is set to be appointed today, but it remains to be seen if he will be given funds in January.

Arsenal and Chelsea, meanwhile, are both ready to splash the cash in hope of guaranteeing top four finishes at the end of the season.

Palace eye Solanke

Crystal Palace want Liverpool ace Dominic Solanke on loan in January.

Solanke has struggled to make an impact at Liverpool this term and has yet to appear.

Rangers are also keen on bringing up north of the border but Palace could offer him Premier League football.

Palace have struggled for goals this term and need more fire power.

Klopp on Mourinho sacking

Jurgen Klopp paid tribute to Jose Mourinho after he was sacked by Manchester United.

"He’s a very competitive guy,” he said. Very ambitious. Really competitive. He has all my respect.

"He’s unbelievably successful and I can imagine the last few months were not a joy for nobody, especially not him.

"It’s not nice when you have to face these questions every day but nobody can take away all the things he has won.

"I wish he has that in his mind and not other things that have happened in the last few months. He is an outstanding manager.”

Paul Pogba decision

Man Utd will NOT sell Paul Pogba in the January transfer window in the wake of Jose Mourinho’s sacking, according to reports.

Pogba has been frozen out under Mourinho in recent weeks but the Portuguese was sacked on Tuesday morning following United’s dreadful start to the season.

It was reported that Pogba could be sold after falling out of favour, with Juventus said to be keen on taking him back to Italy and Barcelona monitoring the situation.

However, Times journalist Matryn Ziegler claims the club are keen to keep hold of their record signing, who moved back to the club for £89million in 2016 - four years after initially leaving.

Mauricio Pochettino to Man Utd

Man Utd hero Gary Neville has urged his old club to land Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino.

He said: "I’ve been fortunate to spend time at Tottenham's training ground, and for me he feels like the ideal candidate.

"Man United have tried managers who have won European cups, they've tried managers who have won multiple leagues.

"My view is they need someone who meets the three key principles of the football club, and that is promotion of youth, entertaining football, and to win football matches."

Man Utd eye defender

Manchester United are eyeing Galatasaray defender Ozan Kabak.

The Daily Mail say Jose Mourinho is a big admirer of the 18-year-old centre back.

Kabak has a £6.7million release clause in his current Galatasaray contract.

Manchester City, Roma and Inter Milan are also monitoring Kabak.

Zidane keen to take over at Man Utd

Zinedine Zidane is interested in replacing Jose Mourinho at Manchester United, French football expert Julien Laurens claims.

"The thing with Zidane is I think he would be tempted,” Laurens said on talkSPORT.

"I think he loves the idea. It’s a huge club.

"The thing for him is man-management.

"It is his main quality, it’s his biggest quality.

"He’s improved a lot at Real Madrid over the two and a half years tactically, understanding the game and changing and everything.

"Where he was so good was at managing that dressing room. The egos like Cristiano, Modric and the others.

"[He made] everyone in that squad, even the smaller players feel important.”

Arsenal leading Pepe race

Arsenal are leading the race to sign Lille winger Nicolas Pepe.

French newspaper L'Equipe reckon Lille are open to negotiate over the £45m-rated star.

It remains to be seen whether the Ligue 1 side are willing to sell in the January transfer window.

However, Unai Emery is keen to bolster his attacking ranks following Danny Welbeck’s season-ending injury earlier this year.

Chelsea close in on Pulisic

Chelsea are confident of signing Borussia Dortmund star Christian Pulisic in January.

The USA international is into the final 18 months of his contract and is on Chelsea and Liverpool's radars.

But, according to the Daily Mail, Chelsea are confident of agreeing a deal next month.

The Blues are in talks for a £60m transfer and hope to agree a fee before the window opens.
