Plymouth beat Rochdale after late Josh Lillis error

Goalkeeper Josh Lillis’ 80th-minute howler handed Plymouth all three points in their 2-1 win at Rochdale.
After an uneventful opening 70 minutes the game sprang into life when the visitors took the lead against the run of play in the 73rd minute.
Antoni Sarcevic raced into the area on the right and with Matt Done conscious of fouling him, he was allowed to advance towards the goal before slipping a shot wide of Lillis, with Joel Grant applying the finishing touch from close range.
Dale hit back within three minutes, Brad Inman drawing Matt Macey off his line before firing an angled finish beneath him into the net.
But Argyle were handed the win in the 80th minute by a mistake from Lillis.
The ball was played back to him by David Perkins at a comfortable pace – but the goalkeeper made a complete hash of his attempt to launch it up-field, the ball trickling under his kick and into the net.
Calvin Andrew saw a header blocked on the line by Yann Songo’o as Plymouth saw the game out.
