Thomas at the double as Grimsby see off Swindon

A Wes Thomas double either side of half-time saw Grimsby continue their recent run of wins at home as they beat Swindon 2-1.
Michael Doughty went close for Swindon inside the opening 10 minutes as a path into the penalty area opened up for him, but James McKeown did well to get down and palm the midfielder’s effort away.
Grimsby took the lead when Sid Nelson was penalised for a handball inside the box, with Thomas stepping up to convert from the spot despite Lawrence Vigouroux getting a strong hand to the ball.
Swindon responded just a couple of minutes later, though, with Elijah Adebayo winning a free-kick 25 yards out for Matt Taylor to brilliantly curl the ball home.
McKeown was forced into a great save from Adebayo just after the break, and it proved crucial as just minutes later Vigouroux could only block an effort from distance from Elliot Embleton, with Thomas on hand to tap in the rebound and earn his side a fourth successive home win.
