Man Utd revelation

Manchester United were sniffing around Jorginho when the midfielder was at Napoli, says the Chelsea ace’s agent Joao Santos.

"There have been calls from Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City, Tottenham and Chelsea," Santos said.

"In a way all the big English clubs saw Jorginho because he was already in the Italian national team.

"Based on an agreement with Napoli. Jorginho still had two years of contract and the last word was from Napoli. At that moment, the best deal for Napoli was Chelsea."

Cavani to Chelsea

Chelsea reportedly lead the race for Paris Saint-Germain forward Edinson Cavani as the January transfer window approaches.

The Blues have been unable to rely on Alvaro Morata or Olivier Giroud for a steady stream of goals this season.

Reports in France have claimed Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri is interested in taking Cavani to Stamford Bridge to remedy the situation.

And the Metro reckon Chelsea are the favourites to snap up the 31-year-old ahead of Atletico Madrid and Napoli because they can offer up to £45m.

Arsenal move backed

Arsenal have been told to snap up Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly to bolster their defence.

The Gunners have lost Rob Holding to a long-term knee injury with the mid-season transfer window just weeks away.

And former striker Kevin Campbell seems to have a replacement in mind for the former Bolton man.

Campbell quote-tweeted a post praising Koulibaly with the message: "Arsenal should get sign him 100% ASAP [sic]."

Koulibaly was in action on English soil on Tuesday night as Napoli lost 1-0 to Liverpool at Anfield.

Liverpool transfer fee joke

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp shared a joke with Reds hero Jamie Carragher after Alisson’s heroics against Napoli.

The Brazilian stopper, a summer signing from Roma, played a vital role to keep Napoli at bay and secure his side’s progress from the Champions League group stage.

And, while appearing on Danish TV post-match, Klopp made a comical quip about how much he would have been prepared to spend on Alisson.

"If I knew Alisson was this good, I would have paid double," Klopp joked, while appearing alongside pundit Carragher.

Dembele update

Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde has dropped a hint Arsenal and Liverpool target Ousmane Dembele’s future might not be at the Nou Camp.

"As the match went by, he has been getting a little tired," Valverde said after Barcelona’s 1-1 draw with Tottenham. "We are happy with him.

"I already said that we would try to resolve it internally, the thing is for him to give us joys while he is here."

Arsenal transfer chief Sven Mislintat has hailed Dembele, while Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is thought to be a fan of the winger.
