Effiong’s late brace hands 10-man Dover unlikely win

Inih Effiong scored twice in the last seven minutes as 10-man Dover upset the odds to stun high-flying Fylde 2-1.
Fylde looked certain to pick up the three points after taking a first-half lead through Danny Rowe’s 15th goal of the season and then seeing Dover forward Anthony Jeffrey sent off.
Jeffrey was dismissed for a professional foul in the 66th minute but Dover, who started the day in the bottom two, refused to roll over and snatched an unlikely victory thanks to Effiong’s late brace.
He drew the hosts level in the 83rd minute before netting a stoppage-time winner as improving Dover made it 13 points from their last six games, having previously gone 14 league games without a win.
