Wally Downes looking to revive AFC Wimbledon

New AFC Wimbledon manager Wally Downes will take the helm for his first League One game against Rochdale.
Downes has a relatively full squad available, though forward Kwesi Appiah continues to be sidelined with a hamstring issue.
Midfielder Scott Wagstaff has shaken off his own hamstring concern however and could return to the starting line-up.
The Dons have turned to former Wimbledon player Downes to replace Neal Ardley, with the club currently in the relegation mire.
Rochdale head to south London to end a week of off-field turmoil, with Andrew Kilpatrick confirming he will replace Chris Dunphy as chairman on December 29.
David Bottomley has replaced James Mason as chief executive as Rochdale look to shore up their administrative arrangements.
Keith Hill’s men will be looking to return to winning ways after defeats to Oxford and Portsmouth.
Boss Hill could keep faith with the back four that so nearly shut out Portsmouth in the FA Cup, before his side leaked a late goal in the 1-0 loss, though defender Kgosi Ntlhe and midfielder Andy Cannon remain fitness doubts.
