Oldham boss Bunn wants return to Manchester City in third round

Frankie Bunn is desperate to draw former club Manchester City after Oldham saw off Maidstone United 2-0 in their FA Cup second round clash.
The former reserve manager at City watched as his Latics side eased past their non-league opponents, with goals from skipper Peter Clarke and Chris O’Grady.
And Bunn is hoping that he will face his former team in the third round, with the draw to take place on Monday.
He said: “I just want a big Premier League side away from home. I’d like Manchester City having worked there for a number of years. But any big one away from home will get some finances into the club.
“I thought we were very professional. It was a physical encounter, they were quite dangerous at times and it had a volatile atmosphere – the Maidstone supporters came out in their numbers and they were very vocal, and ours were also terrific – which added to the mix.”
Experienced captain Clarke had tapped home a well-worked set-piece in the 17th minute for Oldham, with O’Grady then sealing the victory six minutes from time with a fine solo goal.
Despite the loss, Maidstone boss Harry Wheeler was impressed by the effort shown by his players.
He added: “I’m proud of the lads for the endeavour and effort they showed. We matched them for the majority of the game and they gave everything they’ve got against a league side unbeaten in five. We competed for as long as we could with a depleted squad.
“The higher up the leagues you go, the more clinical sides are – they finished the two chances they had and we didn’t with ours. That’s the difference at the end of the day.”
