MAURICIO POCHETTINO is urging Christian Eriksen to say ‘no’ to Real Madrid — just like he did.
Tottenham boss Poch rejected Real’s attempts to take him to the Bernabeu in the summer and again at the start of this month.
Now he wants Eriksen to show that loyalty and commit, with just 18 months left on his Spurs deal.
Pochettino said: “He knows and we know what we’re doing and of course we’re working hard.
“The club is working to try to take the best decisions. And Christian is going to take the decision that is best for him.”
SunSport revealed this week that Real — also eyeing Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford — are keeping tabs on Spurs’ Danish midfield ace, along with Juventus.
Pochettino added: “I hope Christian continues to develop his career with Tottenham.
“We’re not worried. In football I’m never worried.
“But I prefer that he’s going to sign the new contract and spend a long time with Tottenham. It will be fantastic.”
He has developed into one of Tottenham’s best players since they signed him from Ajax in 2013 for a bargain £11.5million.
Pochettino said: “When he signed he was a good prospect. Tottenham and Eriksen was a good mix.
“Good for Tottenham, good for Eriksen.”
