Ollie Banks and James Norwood face late fitness tests as Tranmere welcome Oldham to Prenton Park.
Midfielder Banks missed the 2-0 win at Oxford City in an FA Cup first round replay on Tuesday because of a knock and is a doubt to face his former club.
Striker Norwood was on the scoresheet and played the entirety of the win over Oxford City but he, too, is struggling ahead of the visit of the Latics with a slight knock.
Defender Steve McNulty is set to return to the first-team line-up after being rested in midweek.
Oldham forward Jonathan Benteke could miss his third successive fixture.
The Belgian was sidelined for the FA Cup win at Hampton & Richmond and last week’s victory over Cambridge, and is still struggling with a knock.
Goalkeeper Daniel Iversen and midfielder Gevaro Nepomuceno are in contention for a comeback into the first XI following their return from international duty.
Striker Sam Surridge will be pushing for more time after making a cameo against the U’s following a month out with a hamstring injury but midfielder Jose Baxter is a long-term absentee because of ankle ligament damage.
