Ollie Norburn scored twice as Shrewsbury beat Rochdale 3-2 in League One.
Fejiri Okenabirhie was also on target as Shrewsbury, who parted company with manager John Askey earlier this week, came out on top despite goals from Brad Inman and Jordan Williams for the visitors.
Shrewsbury started brightly with Aaron Amadi-Holloway firing narrowly wide after being set up by Josh Laurent before Okenabirhie’s low shot was stopped by visiting goalkeeper Magnus Norman.
Shrewsbury moved ahead in the 32nd minute when Okenabirhie was upended by Sam Hart and Norburn scored from the penalty spot.
Rochdale equalised on the stroke of half time as Inman, set up by a pass from Stephen Dooley, found the net from just inside the penalty area with a composed finish.
Williams then fired the visitors in front just before the hour, slamming home a low shot from the edge of the box.
But Shrewsbury were quickly level, Okenabirhie converting Laurent’s cross in the 65th minute.
The winning goal followed seven minutes later as midfielder Norburn’s low drive from 20 yards took a deflection on its way in for his fifth goal of the season.
