Ahkeem Rose grabs the winner as Grimsby see off Crawley

Grimsby halted a run of three straight League Two defeats as substitute Ahkeem Rose’s late winner secured a 1-0 victory over Crawley at Blundell Park.
Ahkeem Rose came off the bench to settle the scores with his first Football League goal, prodding home three minutes from time.
Chances were at a premium in the first half, although it was the visitors who looked the most likely to open the scoring.
Ollie Palmer, the former Grimsby loanee, saw two attempts charged down in the box, while he also clipped over on the stretch.
At the other end, Harry Cardwell almost marked his return from injury in style, but his tame effort was cleared off the line.
The game followed a similar pattern upon the restart, with Palmer once again threatening.
And the visitors were almost gift-wrapped an opener when a Grimsby mix-up sent Panutche Camara through, but he was ultimately stopped in his tracks by an offside flag, with the goal at his mercy.
James McKeown then denied George Francomb, before the lively Rose came off the bench to clinch all three points.
