Southend will have midfielder Luke Hyam in contention again for the Sky Bet League One match against Blackpool.
Hyam made his long-awaited return from an ankle injury in the midweek Checkatrade Trophy win over Southampton Under-21s, so is expected to feature again.
Southend reported no fresh injury problems, but manager Chris Powell has a depleted squad, with centre-back Harry Lennon not expected to be available until the new year after suffering a fractured leg.
Summer signing Sam Barratt is out for the season with a serious knee injury, along with left-back Ben Coker, midfielder Lewis Gard and forward Tom Hopper.
Blackpool have a near fully fit squad to take down to Essex.
Manager Terry McPhillips confirmed there were no fresh injury concerns following the Checkatrade Trophy win over Accrington on Tuesday night.
On-loan Rangers midfielder Joe Dodoo scored twice to add to his goal in the FA Cup tie against Exeter, so will be hoping to retain a place in the starting XI.
Club captain Jimmy Ryan continues his recovery from knee surgery, while forward Max Clayton is also not yet back in full training.
