Salford City, flying high in the National League, secured an FA Cup first round replay with a 1-1 draw at League One side Shrewsbury Town.
Ollie Norburn gave Shrewsbury the lead midway through the first half before Adam Rooney quickly pulled Salford, who are unbeaten since August, level.
Shrewsbury took the lead in the 24th minute as Norburn fired in from close range after goalkeeper Chris Neal’s clearance from Fejiri Okenabirhie’s left-wing cross fell invitingly for the midfielder.
But Salford were quickly level three minutes later, just after home goalkeeper Steve Arnold had made a fine save from Danny Whitehead’s close range volley, with the resulting corner powerfully headed in by Rooney at the near post.
Rory Gaffney’s effort for Salford was deflected narrowly wide at the start of the second half before Shrewsbury pushed for a late winner.
Norburn’s long range shot was held by Neal before the goalkeeper kept out a header from Aaron Amadi-Holloway.
