Kane at the double for Doncaster to deny Chorley

Herbie Kane’s double spared Doncaster’s blushes as they came from behind to force an FA Cup first-round replay with Chorley after a 2-2 draw.
The League One side twice conceded in the first half but came back stronger after the break against 10-man Chorley, who had Matt Challoner sent off for a high and late lunge on Kane.
Josh O’Keefe converted a corner in the opening minute to give Chorley the lead, looking to make the most of their second straight first-round appearance.
Kane’s equaliser got Rovers back level but the National League North side were back in front thanks to defender Courtney Meppen-Walter two minutes from the break.
Challoner’s red card stalled any Chorley attempt to reassert their lead, with repeated Doncaster attacks culminating in Kane’s equaliser – a stunning long-range strike with 13 minutes to go.
Adam Blakeman had Chorley’s best chance of the second half with a free-kick 10 minutes from time, only to fire over the cross-bar.
The replay gives Chorley a second chance at reaching the second round for the first time since 1991.
