James Norwood bags brace as Tranmere see off 10-man Exeter

Tranmere secured an impressive 2-0 victory over 10-man Exeter as Micky Mellon’s men continue to climb the League Two table.
A brace from James Norwood either side of half-time saw off City, allowing Rovers to leapfrog their opponents and move to within a point of the automatic promotion places.
The Grecians started the match in third place with Dean Moxey and Lee Martin both testing the resistance of Tranmere goalkeeper Scott Davies early doors.
But Rovers led just past the half-hour mark when a cross from Jake Caprice was met by the head of Norwood and – although goalkeeper James Hamon got a hand to it – he could not keep it out.
Tranmere were playing with swagger and when Larnell Cole unleashed a breath-taking half-volley 10 minutes into the second half, it hit the base of the post and bounced into the path of Norwood, who stroked home his 12th of the season.
Moxey collected a second yellow card and was subsequently dismissed 17 minutes from time and that was enough to ensure all three points stayed in Birkenhead.
