Colchester midfielder Sammie Szmodics set to miss Grimsby trip

Grimsby manager Michael Jolley is contemplating changes for the visit of Colchester.
The Mariners put in an impressive performance to draw with Exeter on Saturday and Jolley must find the balance between a consistent line-up and keeping his side fresh.
He said: “I think when you get two games close together you need to make sure you’ve got the right level of energy for the game that’s coming up.”
Harry Davis, Harry Cardwell and Elliot Whitehouse are long-term absentees and remain on the sidelines.
Colchester could be unlikely to risk Sammie Szmodics for the trip to Blundell Park.
Szmodics missed Saturday’s win at Morecambe with a leg injury, and although X-rays showed it is not serious, the U’s may give him the evening off.
Courtney Senior came into the side to replace Szmodics and scored the only goal in a 1-0 win at the Globe Arena and could retain his place in attack.
Boss John McGreal might consider other changes, with striker Aaron Collins and midfielder Brennan Dickenson among those hoping for a start.
