United boss Jose Mourinho watched both play for their country during the recent international break.
But it is defender Milenkovic who is the pressing target for the Old Trafford club with the January transfer window approaching.
That’s because the Fiorentina player can operate at right-back and the centre of the defence – both problem areas for Mourinho.
Milenkovic, 21, is now rated at £40million by his club as they know he is being assessed by United, Tottenham, Chelsea, Arsenal and Juventus.

His Serbia team-mate Milinkovi-Savic, 23, has been watched by all Europe’s top clubs.
But many are being discouraged by Lazio’s £90m valuation.
The player known as Sergej has been described as “the Paul Pogba of Serbia”.
But it seems that United would have to sell Old Trafford record buy Pogba before they would increase any interest in Sergej – particularly at £90m.
