England's two-goal hero was left writhing in pain after the apparent stamp
But he has protested his innocence and posted a video which appears to show he was not guilty of stamping on the Manchester City star.
He said on the tweet: "Nothing else to say."
Ramos' reputation in England could not be at a lower point following his clash with Mo Salah in the Champions League final which dislocated the Egyptian's shoulder.
Eagle-eyed viewers were shocked to see La Roja’s captain go over to Three Lions hero Sterling as he lay injured claiming a penalty on the floor and appear to stamp on the Manchester City attacker’s foot.
Due to the pulsating action the incident went unnoticed by many.
Ramos was on the end of a thumping challenge from Eric Dier during the Nations League encounter, and it has today been revealed what they said to each other
Gareth Southgate's side now sit second in their Nations League group behind Spain and ahead of Croatia with one game left to play, which will be Croatia at home on November 18.
