Aldershot battle back to end Eastleigh run
Posted Sunday, October 14, 2018 by PA
Aldershot halted Eastleigh’s run of four wins in a row with a come-from-behind 2-1 victory at the Silverlake Stadium.
The hosts took a fifth-minute lead when Mark Yeates picked out Paul McCallum in the box and the striker scored past goalkeeper Jake Cole.
But the Shots took charge through with two quickfire goals. First Matt McClure’s shot rebounded off a post and back into the net off defender Reda Johnson in the 36th minute.
And three minutes later goalkeeper Max Stryjek came close to keeping out Scott Rendell’s header, but the ball was adjudged to have just crossed the line.
No further goals in the second half ensured a second successive victory for Gary Waddock’s side.
