Exeter extend unbeaten run to seven games after seeing off Swindon

Exeter made it seven games unbeaten in Sky Bet League Two with a goal in each half enough to see off Swindon at St James Park.
The hosts took the lead after 14 minutes when a long ball forward by goalkeeper Christy Pym went straight through to Jonathan Forte and he flicked a shot beyond the stranded Luke McCormick and in via a post.
Swindon saw plenty of the ball in that first half but struggled to create much, although Marc Richards spurned a great chance to equalise when he headed wide from close range from a superb Matty Taylor cross.
With the wind in their favour, Exeter doubled their lead just after 63 minutes when Pierce Sweeney fizzed in a cross from the left and Jayden Stockley got there before McCormick to head home.
Stockley had the ball in the net again when he converted another Sweeney cross with a powerful volley, but his delight was cut short when it was ruled out for offside.
Swindon ran out of ideas as the game went on with Exeter earning a deserved clean sheet for the second successive home league match to remain in second place in the table.
