Robbie Neilson makes winning start as Dundee United boss

Robbie Neilson started his Dundee United reign with a 2-1 win at Partick Thistle.
The former MK Dons and Hearts boss took over at Tannadice on Monday and got off to the perfect start thanks to goals from Fraser Aird and Pavol Safranko.
Dundee United took the lead on the stroke of half-time when Fraser Fyvie played in Sam Stanton, who flighted the ball to the back post where Aird was on hand to volley it in.
Stanton wasted a great chance to double the Tangerines’ advantage early in the second half when he chipped the ball off target.
However, Safranko did add their second goal when he finished from close range after Cammy Bell could not hold on to Paul McMullan’s effort.
Thistle pulled a goal back through Jai Quitongo in the 77th minute.
