Ike Ugbo to miss Scunthorpe’s clash with Peterborough

Scunthorpe have no fresh injury or suspension worries as they look to get back to winning ways against Peterborough at Glanford Park.

On-loan striker Ike Ugbo has returned to parent club Chelsea for treatment on a hamstring injury but will go back to the Iron next week and could return to first-team action before the end of the month.

James Horsfield has missed Scunthorpe’s last couple of fixtures – including the loss at Luton last time out – due to a groin complaint which will sideline him once again.

Goalkeeping pair Matt Gilks (knee) and Rory Watson (broken arm) are long-term injury concerns and neither player will be available until at least the new year.

Peterborough midfielder Marcus Maddison has been laid low with tonsillitis this week but is scheduled to return to training on Friday.

Should he come through that then he should retain his place in the starting line-up as Posh look to bounce back from their 4-0 thumping at home to Barnsley last week.

Josh Yorwerth is unlikely to feature due to illness but fellow defender Tyler Denton, on loan from Leeds, has returned to training after an ankle injury and is available.

Goalkeeper Conor O’Malley remains on the sidelines with a shoulder injury.
