James Hanson could be back in the AFC Wimbledon squad for the home game against leaders Portsmouth.
Hanson, a summer signing from Sheffield United, has missed the last three matches with a hamstring strain.
But boss Neal Ardley is hopeful the 30-year-old striker will be in contention against Pompey.
Wimbledon have failed to score in their last two games and dropped to 20th in the table after a 1-0 loss at Plymouth on Saturday.
Pompey will be without on-loan QPR winger David Wheeler.
The 28-year-old suffered an ankle injury against Gillingham last weekend and looks likely to be out until November.
Aston Villa loanee Andre Green is still on the sidelines after undergoing a minor knee operation last month.
Dion Donohue scored on his comeback from a hamstring injury against Crawley in the Checkatrade Trophy in midweek to stake his claim for a place in the squad.
