Ross County remain second in the Ladbrokes Championship after beating Partick Thistle 2-0 at Firhill.
County started well and took the lead after 14 minutes when Josh Mullin converted the rebound after his initial effort was blocked.
Thistle almost responded immediately with a Miles Storey effort which forced Scott Fox to palm over.
The Staggies doubled their advantage from the penalty spot 10 minutes after half-time, Billy McKay scoring from 12 yards after Christie Elliott handled in the area.
Thistle tried to force their way back into the game but the visitors held out, despite Ross Draper’s late red card, to remain two points behind leaders Ayr.
