Two late Amadou Bakayoko strikes secure Coventry a dramatic win at Charlton

Amadou Bakayoko’s late double secured a fine Coventry comeback away from home against Charlton.
Lyle Taylor’s penalty just before half-time looked likely to be enough for Lee Bowyer’s side but substitute Bakayoko’s finish with ten minutes remaining and a second in added-time sealed the three points for the Sky Blues.
The hosts started the game on the front-foot and were unlucky not to be ahead after five minutes when Tariqe Fosu’s shot was superbly deflected over the bar by defender Jordan Willis.
Coventry came close to opening the scoring themselves but Conor Chaplin could only fire over the bar after 14 minutes.
The Addicks took the lead prior to the break when Taylor was brought down by Junior Brown before the former AFC Wimbledon striker stepped up to dispatch the subsequent spot-kick.
In a closely contested second-half, Mark Robins’ side levelled with 10 minutes remaining with a nicely-worked move that saw Luke Thomas cross for Bakayoko to tap-in from close range.
The summer signing then scored his second of the game in injury-time to secure an unlikely comeback.
