Fifth draw for Inverness after being held by Morton

Unbeaten Inverness recorded their fifth draw of the opening eight games of the Scottish Championship season as they were held 1-1 by Morton.
The visitors took the lead after just nine minutes. Gary Oliver blocked a clearance and quickly found the run of Michael Tidser and though the opening was there to shoot, the playmaker instead pulled the ball back for Charlie Telfer to apply the finish for his second goal in as many games.
Inverness struggled to create openings in response, but after threatening from a couple of corners they had a chance on the half hour mark. Morton goalkeeper Ryan Scully had to be alert, racing off his line to beat Aaron Doran to the ball as Inverness looked to spring the offside trap.
Scully denied Doran again four minutes later with a fine save to a powerful shot.
But an equaliser was coming and duly arrived via Jordan White on the stroke of half-time. It was a fine solo effort as White held off the challenge of Kerr Waddell before sending a shot beyond the reach of Scully.
Waddell went close to restoring Morton’s lead at the start of the second half but Sean Welsh cleared his header off the line before Scully made an outstanding late save to deny Daniel Mackay and ensure it finished all sqaure.
