Joey Barton’s home woes continued as Fleetwood once again failed to pick up maximum points at Highbury as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Wycombe.
The Cod Army have won just once at home in the league this term and squandered a lead to end up with just a point from this clash.
Fleetwood took the lead through Paddy Madden, the forward nodding home an Ash Hunter cross from the right in the 37th minute.
But Wycombe came back fighting in the second half and it was Adebayo Akinfenwa who did the damage, fizzing the ball home after 55 minutes.
Fleetwood goalkeeper Alex Cairns made a fine save to tip Dominic Gape’s thunderous strike onto the crossbar.
But the home side should have regained their lead as the half wore on, Madden’s diving header from a James Wallace centre flying off target.
Fleetwood almost snatched the points with the last chance of the game. New signing Ryan Taylor – famed for his dead-ball skills – whipped a free-kick wide of the right-hand post.
