The legendary former Manchester United manager - who won 25 major trophies during his 26 years as Red Devils boss - was taken ill in May after suffering a brain haemorrhage.
Ferguson was rushed to hospital for emergency brain surgery and ended up spending four days in intensive care.
Doctors told him he was extremely lucky to be alive, but after several months recuperating at home in Wilmslow, Cheshire, the 76-year-old has made it out to watch United take on Wolves today.
Ahead of the game, he was asked how he felt to be back, and said: “Well I’m a bit nervous to be honest with you, a bit tense really.

"I think my last game was Arsenal back in April some time so its a long time.
"It’s great to be back, and I hope we get a win today.”
United will honour their iconic former boss with a presentation ahead of the game at 2.45pm.
Jose Mourinho’s team are on a three-game winning streak, although they lost their last home game 3-0 to Tottenham in August.
