Dundee United leave Falkirk still searching for their first point of the season

Falkirk remain without a point in the Scottish Championship after Dundee United inflicted their sixth straight defeat.
Second-half goals from Pavol Safranko and Craig Curran saw United emerge 2-0 winners at the Falkirk Stadium and climb up to third spot.
Falkirk boss Ray McKinnon, facing the club that sacked him last year when they were fourth in the table, was looking to reverse his new side’s poor run of results and a goalless first half suggested they could frustrated United.
The visitors had the best chance of the opening period but Christoph Rabitsch saw his volley go just wide of the left-hand post from 20 yards out.
However, Falkirk’s hopes of a first point of the season suffered a blow in the 59th minute when Safranko rose highest to convert from Fraser Aird’s dipping cross and put the Tangerines ahead.
The lead was almost doubled minutes later but Scott Harrison did well to clear Yannick Loemba’s shot off the line. The clearance sparked a swift Falkirk counter-attack which saw Deimantas Petravicius’ effort go just wide.
The hosts had another chance to draw level after 78 minutes but Joe McKee’s shot from five yards out was well saved by Matej Rakovan.
McKinnon’s men would not get any closer as United settled the contest four minutes from time when Curran met Loemba’s near-post cross and guided his header over the goalkeeper.
