Regan Charles-Cook returns to boost Gillingham ahead of Peterborough visit

Gillingham boss Steve Lovell is set to welcome back Regan Charles-Cook for the visit of high-flying Peterborough this weekend.
The 21-year-old midfielder has been missing since last month’s 1-1 draw with Coventry due to a hamstring injury and in his absence the Gills have lost all four of their matches.
He has now returned to training though and could face Posh, while defender Gabriel Zakuani – who this week retired from international duty with the Democratic Republic of Congo – is also in contention to return after injury.
Midfielder Billy Bingham, who like Zakuani has not featured since facing Barnsley at the start of the month, continues to be sidelined.
Peterborough boss Steve Evans has striker Jason Cummings available as Posh seek to bounce back from last weekend’s 2-1 home loss to Portsmouth, their first league defeat of the season.
Cummings was substituted in the second half of that match after suffering a dead leg but he has trained this week and could retain his starting spot.
Callum Cooke is pushing for a return to action after recovering from the ankle injury he sustained in the Checkatrade Trophy tie at MK Dons earlier this month.
The 21-year-old playmaker has not featured for the first team since that game but impressed Evans in a friendly against MK Dons earlier this week and is an option.
